The Utah Jazz had the best record in the NBA last season. But despite having multiple weapons on their roster, adding even more firepower is never a bad thing.

Jazz’s latest signing to Rudy Gay could be a great sneaky addition for the team next season, especially given his latest injury admission. The 16-year-old NBA veteran claimed he had been playing with an injured heel since 2017, which hampered his performance. Gay ultimately chose to have the operation last offseason.

Via Ryan Miller from KSL:

“I consider myself to be a very tough guy,” Gay said. “I played with it for five years, but I feel like this is the chance for me to get into this jazz organization with no setbacks, no pain or whatever, just come and be able to contribute everything. right now.”

Prior to the injury in 2017, Rudy Gay averaged at least 17 points per game in 10 straight NBA seasons. But since that injury, he’s averaged 11.9 points per game in a reduced role for the San Antonio Spurs. Once the injury is corrected, Rudy Gay may be able to return to the form he once had in a new squad that could use more dynamic scorers.

“We have the best coaches out there to help me get back to where I am, but that’s one of those things I want to play in this summer,” he said. “I don’t want this to harass me. We want to make sure this is fair to be as competitive as possible. “

Led by Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, the Utah Jazz have filled their unsung talent roster with a ton to prove. Count on Rudy Gay to integrate you.
