Saweetie performs at iHeartRadio music festival in her airport clothes

Last weekend the 11th Annual iHeartRadio Music Festival took place in Las Vegas with a number of the world’s greatest artists on the lineup. Among them was the 28-year-old rapper Saweetie, which proved that the show had to go on no matter what.

Saweetie is one of the greatest rappers and entrepreneurs in the game. His debut single “Icy Grl” was certified platinum, which earned him a contract with Warner Records before moving on to release. his first EP High maintenance and second big label EP Ice. His song “My type” pushed her to the Billboard Hot 100 list, and a year later, “Press”, his hit single from his next project pretty bitch music, brought her back on the list, this time peaking at number 20. Beyond her growing success in music, Saweetie has released a number of fashion and makeup collections and has a countless list of brand partnerships. On Saturday, the first day of the iHeartRadio festival, Saweetie announced to fans via Twitter that she would continue her performance despite not receiving her stage outfit as expected. Instead, she said she would perform in her airport clothes, wearing a simple black t-shirt and black jeans, with a red bandana across her hair. “I’m really sad about this,” she tweeted. “But the show must go on.”

According to an Instagram story posted by her team, the Sacramento-raised rapper had the choice to step aside from her performance that day, but overcame the setback to gift her fans. “A little bump in the road didn’t stop us,” she said, testifying to the relationship Saweetie continues to have with her fans, whom she affectionately calls her Icy Gang.
