Creekhouse Kitchen & Bar, a new restaurant in quaint Wimberley – just over half an hour’s drive from San Antonio – will open on Friday, Texas country musician Kevin Fowler announced on social media.
A little weird to hear food news from a country music star? We thought so too, until we learned that Fowler owns the land on which the new restaurant sits.
“It went on for three years, but it was worth the wait and the hard work,” Fowler said on Facebook over the weekend. “Our new baby, Creekhouse Kitchen & Bar in Wimberley, TX is now officially open! Not only delicious food but also the most beautiful place in town on Cypress Creek! ”
According to the new spot’s website, it will serve fresh salads, soups, sandos, and entrees, as well as drinks from a full bar. Its boozy offerings include the River Float, a summer product, with vanilla ice cream, spicy Ancho Reyes, Tito vodka, oat stout ale and St. Arnold Root. Beer.
The website describes Executive Chef Mark Grimes’ meals as “satisfying to the soul” – country-fried game, anyone? – and inspired by the beauty of Cypress Creek, which runs alongside the restaurant. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week from Friday July 30.
CreekHouse Kitchen & Bar is located at 14015 RR 12 in Wimberley.
