Kirby’s 30th Anniversary Music Festival Streams Free August 11

Kirby’s 25th anniversary saw a full orchestra unite to pay tribute to two and a half decades of Dream Land. These performances were limited to Japan, but it made me wonder what might be in store for the ongoing 30th anniversary. Well, wonder no more, because a new live music event has been announced, and this time it’s streaming… for free!

Held in Tokyo, the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival will also be shared with the world when it debuts on August 11. The theme gets much more dynamic than the chic art of the orchestra, with Kirby and his friends (and “friends”) sporting blue, purple, and pink outfits. Ticket-selling lotteries have started for fans in Japan and special merchandise is on the way, but if you’re anywhere else in the world, you’ll still be able to watch for the reasonable price of absolutely nothing.

When he’s not writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky is anticipating the release of the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3. Until then, he’ll have the warm comforts of Super Smash Bros. to keep him alive.
