MIAMI (AP) – Jazz Chisholm Jr. scored twice before scoring from third on wild ground in the 10th inning and the Miami Marlins beat the Washington Nationals 8-7 on Monday night.

After Dylan Floro (6-6) threw a scoreless top of the 10th, Chisholm took his place in second to start the bottom of the inning as Miami’s automatic runner.

Washington reliever Sam Clay (0-5) intentionally pushed Jesús Sánchez to face Lewis brinson. Chisholm stole third place at bat and ran home after Clay’s breaking pitch bounced away from the catcher Keibert Ruiz.

Washington wasted their chance early in the 10th after cautious automatic runner Luis García took just one base on Thomas’ brace against the right-field wall. Floro retired Alcide Escobar on a groundout against a retracted infield, Juan soto was intentionally stepped on, and García was caught trying to get home on Josh bellscorer for first baseman Lewin Díaz.

Miami wide receiver Sandy León’s pitch passed Díaz at first, but home plate umpire Adam Beck ruled that Bell had interfered with the pitch, resulting in a double play.

Nationals Dave Martínez got into an argument and were sent off.

Sánchez hit a home run and knocked himself out in the fourth inning when the Marlins outfielder hit Lane Thomas’ ball with his bare hands. Sánchez passed the pop up near the foul line and reached behind him with his right hand to catch it. Sánchez smiled and lifted the ball in plain sight, including a downed Thomas.

Miami rallied with three points in the seventh to tie the score at 7, with Bryan De La Cruz scoring the tying point on shortstop Escobar’s second error of the game.

The Nationals broke a 3-3 tie and chased Miami starter Jesús Luzardo with a fifth from three points. Ruiz hit a two-run single and scored on García’s RBI brace.

Luzardo allowed five runs and six hits over four innings. The left-hander walked four and took two out of holds.

Washington entrance Eric Fedde worked five innings and allowed four runs, four hits and five strikeouts.

Miami erased a 3-0 deficit at the Chisholm and Sánchez circuits in the third. Chisholm’s training put the Marlins on the board, and Sánchez followed with a two-point shot after De La Cruz hit Escobar’s ground error.

Chisholm connected Fedde again in the fifth with his explosion over the pitch wall in the center right. He has 17 home runs this season.

Ruiz’s two-run single with the goals loaded in the first gave Washington an early lead.

The Nationals strengthened their advantage over Thomas’ solo shot in the second. Thomas led Luzardo’s 3-2 shot over the center wall for his sixth homerun.
