Did you know that in his last 21 games, Randy Arozarena only hits .167 with no homers, no steals and five steals caught? Everyone is subject to a three week seizure. It’s just weird to see the same guy who looked like the best hitter on the planet last October. It’s not fair, however, we have to remember that Arozarena is technically still a rookie. He must be held in all category leagues, but his plate discipline makes it more difficult in points leagues.

Another player who is getting harder and harder to keep up is Tony Gonsolin. He lasted just 3.1 innings on Monday, allowing three runs on five hits and four more walks. Still, Gonsolin’s ERA remains at just 2.83. The most frustrating part of his comeback is that he has only played five innings once in seven starts. Scott White and I have both agreed to hold on for the time being but I have to admit my patience is running out.

A slew of double Monday dongs!

Meet the Mets! They were mashed Monday. OF Michel Conforto connected on his fifth and sixth circuits of the season Monday evening. He now has eight hits and four homers in his last five games – talk about warming up. Here are the other players who delivered double dongs on Monday:

  • Nationals OF Juan soto now has five homers in four games after collecting two on Monday.
  • Twins C Mitch garver in his first game, the back plucked two home runs. Garver looked a lot like the 2019 release on Monday. It should be remembered that he was beating .281 with a big OPS in June before the injury. He is only listed at 59% and we would drop Yadier Molina for Garver. We just put Garver ahead of him in the standings. We would also take it on Max Stassi.
  • Kike Hernandez. Fun fact: In his last 18 games, here’s Hernandez’s stat line: 0.279 average, seven homers, and more walks than strikeouts. He hits a ton of flying balls and is only 43% off the roster despite being 2B and OF eligible.
