City In The Community hosts a successful Blues on the Green event

City in the Community hosted another successful annual “Blues on the Green” Golf Day earlier this month.

Club supporters, partners, staff and friends of the Foundation gathered at Mottram Hall Golf Club on Thursday, September 16 to help raise funds for CITC’s City Thrive campaign.

Fifteen teams rode the magnificent course, before enjoying food and drinks, as well as the opportunity to further support the CITC through auctions and “Beat the Pro” challenges.

Former Manchester City player Paul Dickov regularly takes part in this popular event.

He said, “I’m so lucky to be involved with City in the Community and to be a part of the work they do.

“I have seen with my own eyes what they do in Manchester, as well as abroad when I have traveled. They make a difference in the lives of so many people, not just children but also families. “

Congratulations to Preferred Tubes who walked away with the winners trophy!

Michael Geary, city manager in the community, added: “Today was brilliant, the rain stayed out, the course was beautiful and it was great to see everyone again, having fun.

“I want to thank everyone who came to support the event and put their teams there. It’s amazing to see everyone giving such support to this important program.”

Every penny raised on the day will support CITC’s City Thrive program, which aims to promote positive mental health for young people between the ages of 14 and 25.

A dedicated team has developed a new mental health program, combining specially tailored football sessions with one-on-one mentoring and group workshops on mental health awareness, to improve mental well-being.

Jason El-Kaleh, Head of Mental Health at CITC, said: “It’s amazing to see so many people coming to support the new City Thrive program.

“We’ve worked so hard to create a program that helps educate young people about mental health, and it’s phenomenal to see so many people supporting it! “

Everyone at City in the Community wishes to express their gratitude to all supporters and partners of “Blues on the Green”.
